The Desert Country design is based on an original artwork Ngapa Jukurrpa – Water Dreaming by traditional Warlpiri artist, Rosina Naparrurla White.
Artist: Rosina Napurrurla White
Original Artwork: Ngapa Jukurrpa – Mikanji (Desert Country Dreaming)
Rosina paints with the world acclaimed Warlukurlangu Artists, an Aboriginal owned art centre located on the tribal homelands of the Warlpiri people in the remote Tanami Desert region of Central Australia. Rosina’s paintings depict ancient Dreamtime stories that have been handed down to her through many generations of her Warlpiri ancestors over tens of thousands of years.
Mainie committed to supporting Aboriginal women artists to earn an independent income from their own work and preserve their unique cultural heritage for future generations.
The original artworks in the Mainie fashion collection are ethically acquired from Aboriginal-owned, community-based art centres and reproduced under licence in accordance with the Indigenous Art Code. Royalties are paid to the Aboriginal artists and their families.
Mainie is a Supply Nation verified Indigenous owned business and an Indigenous Art Code approved dealer member.
