Mainie: Where Fashion Meets Responsibility – Our Commitment to Culture, People and Planet

At Mainie, we know that fashion comes with a cost - and too often, that cost is borne by our environment and the people who make our clothes. Every year, millions of tonnes of textiles are dumped into landfill, while microplastics and synthetic waste seep into waterways and fragile ecosystems.

That is not the future we want to be part of.

From the very beginning, Mainie was founded on a promise: to create fashion that is not only luxurious and beautiful, but also ethical, sustainable and culturally meaningful.

Mainie Australia

Environmentally Responsible Materials

We work exclusively with natural, biodegradable fibres - pure silk, fine Australian Merino wool and plant-based Modal. These premium textiles are renewable, durable and environmentally gentle.

Mainie fashion products are made by audited, reputable manufacturers who uphold the highest standards of workplace safety, fair labour practices and environmental protection. We refuse to cut corners. Every garment reflects our values of integrity, accountability and excellence.

Mainie Australia, Handmade Scarve

Made to Last, Not to Waste

Mainie is not a fast-fashion brand. Our designs are handcrafted in small quantities, ensuring minimal material wastage. Each piece is made to endure - timeless, versatile and not bound by passing fads. A Mainie will never go out of style.

We also apply our sustainability principles to the details: our labels, tags and packaging are carefully sourced from recycled and biodegradable materials.

Mainie Australia, Authentic Aboriginal Art

Culturally Grounded and Ethically Produced

As a proudly First Nations–owned and operated business, Mainie is built on a binding guarantee to support Aboriginal women artists to earn an independent income and to safeguard their unique cultural heritage for future generations.

Every artwork featured in the Mainie collection is ethically licensed and reproduced under the standards of the Indigenous Art Code. Royalties are paid directly to the artists and their families, ensuring that the benefits flow where they matter most.

Mainie Australia

Our Vision

Mainie represents a different kind of fashion. Fashion that respects the planet. Fashion that empowers women. Fashion that celebrates the world’s oldest living culture.

When you choose Mainie, you’re not just wearing a beautiful scarf or garment - you are carrying a story of sustainability, integrity and cultural pride.
