Each year, the Pantone Colours of the Year announcement is awaited with anticipation by fashion stylists and interior designers the world over. For 2021, Pantone has selected two beautiful colours, Pantone 17-5104 Ultimate Gray and Pantone 13-0647 Illuminating. These colours are the perfect blend for those of us who are beginning the new year with a sense of resolve borne from the uncertainty of the past year and with renewed hopes for a brighter 2021.

The Desert Tracks design is based on an original painting by a young and emerging Warlpiri Aboriginal artist, Valma Nakamarra White. Valma comes from a long line of artists and her paintings relate directly to the land, its features, and the plants and animals that inhabit it.
Valma’s painting Desert Tracks depicts the ancient Dreamtime story, Warna Jukurrpa, which tells of a mythical snake ancestor who created the water courses in the desert with his tracks. The story was handed down to Valma through many generations and over tens of thousands of years of her Warlpiri ancestors. The Warlpiri Aboriginal people still live on their tribal homelands in the remote Tanami Desert region of Central Australia and maintain a strong connection to their traditional cultural heritage.
