A Message from Mainie
With Gratitude, Hope and Pride
As we gather our thoughts at the close of another busy and inspiring year, the team at Mainie would like to extend our deepest thanks to our friends, customers, partners and supporters across Australia and around the world.
Your belief in Mainie - in our story, our artists and our mission - has made 2025 a year of achievement, resilience and growth.
Mainie remains a proudly homegrown, First Nations owned business headquartered in the beautiful tropical city of Cairns.
From our earliest beginnings, we have stayed true to our purpose: to share authentic Aboriginal art, culture and stories with the world through ethically made, luxurious wearable art pieces.
Every fashion garment and gift we create carries not just beauty but meaning - a message of connection to the spirit of our country, culture and community.
Celebrating Our 2025 Milestones
This year has been especially significant, and we are proud to reflect on what we have achieved together:
Two thriving retail outlets - at The Pier on the stunning Cairns Marlin Marina and at the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal - welcomed travellers from across the globe, many of whom discovered Mainie for the very first time. These spaces are not just shops; they are cultural touchpoints where visitors experience wearable art infused with ancient stories.
An expanding network of stockists across Australia continued to champion and showcase the Mainie brand. Seeing our pieces proudly stocked in select boutiques nationwide has been a milestone we cherish.
Custom corporate gifting and uniform projects continued to grow, with Mainie recognised as a reliable supplier of authentic First Nations designed accessories for organisations seeking meaningful and culturally respectful gifts.
Mainie proudly represented authentic Aboriginal fashion and design on the world stage at Expo 2025 Osaka, where our wearable art pieces reached an international audience and helped share the beauty of First Nations stories beyond Australia.
We were honoured to be named a Finalist in the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards – First Nations Category, a recognition that highlights not only the quality and originality of our products, but our commitment to ethical business practice, artist royalties and genuine cultural integrity.
These achievements are shared celebrations, made possible because of your continued encouragement, conversations and the pride with which you wear and gift Mainie pieces.
Looking Forward: 2026 and Beyond
As we step into a new year, we feel energised and hopeful. Mainie’s future is bright:
- We are strengthening our digital presence to reach more customers in Australia and overseas.
- We are advancing new partnerships and collaborations that honour culture and encourage economic independence for Aboriginal artists.
- We are planning exciting new collections that will continue to blend the ancient with the contemporary, offering timeless pieces for those who value beauty with purpose.
Every Mainie purchase supports not just a business, but a movement - one that celebrates the world’s oldest continuous living culture and empowers Aboriginal artists, especially women, to earn income from their own artwork and keep cultural knowledge alive for the generations to come.
From Our Family to Yours
As Christmas draws near, we wish you peace, joy and every happiness.
May your holiday season be filled with moments of connection, laughter and love - and may the New Year bring opportunity, abundance and inspiration.
Thank you for walking alongside us. We are honoured to share this journey with you and look forward to creating more beautiful stories together in 2026 and beyond.
Warm Wishes for Christmas and the Year Ahead
